Relative Value Studies, Inc. was created to develop relative value systems that are both accurate and comprehensive. Our databases are recognized as the most useful tools available for establishing, defending, and negotiating fees for medical, surgical, and dental procedures.
Although relative values are primarily used to develop and update fee schedules, this system can be used for contract development/negotiation (including capitation), productivity measurement, capitation value, alternative payment comparison and income projection. Most importantly, this system is designed to provide a fair way of assigning value to services rendered. The relative values for each procedure are determined by practitioner input (through survey). RVSI believes that practitioners are the most qualified (and appropriate) to provide information regarding the relative effort of each procedure. As an independent closely held private company RVSI values are not subject to artificial budget pressures influenced by payer-developed systems.
